Irene Day 4 Late

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
For where things stand tonight, this is what remains. Irene seems slated to pass east of Oriental, east of our home and east of our friends at anchor.  All of that is good. Nevertheless, this continues to be a huge and powerful hurricane even if less than forecast yesterday. All of us will have a scary night tonight, of varying intensity, ours inland certainly much less than that of friends still on the coast.

I will update in the morning if we still have power.

  1. Thanks for all the updates, we've been very worried about all of you there on the east coast, esp in Oriental. I hope you find everything OK when you get back to WH.

  2. Thanks for staying in touch. I know you two are in the crosshairs for almost every system coming across the Atlantic. But I know you are glad you were not here for this one.

    Best wishes.
